SUR Harm Reduction Supervisor

Job Description

Purpose:

The Substance Use & Recovery Harm Reduction Supervisor provides the clinical and administrative oversight of the harm reduction team and when programmatic demands require, functions as a practicing clinician on the team. Provides trauma informed supervision, development of clinical and peer staff, program / data oversite and program leadership ensuring provision of quality care, data driven evaluation and change management processes and community coordination and advocacy for program serving clients and community members who use drugs. Position may provide limited direct care activities in an effort to ensure adequate staff coverage and to train clinicians in the delivery of services. Services are client-centered, delivered in the home/community settings and include assessment, individual therapy and case management. Positive outcomes are achieved through purposeful and respectful relationships rooted in trauma informed care and evidence-based research. An openness to embrace and explore bias, equity issues, successes and challenges from a place of understanding and curiosity is needed to succeed and develop in the position/organization.

Competencies (Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Experience):

  1. Ability to be respectful of the diverse cultures of the people served and to provide culturally appropriate, competent and individualized treatment according to each client's age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and culture.
  2. Clinical competencies, including motivational interviewing techniques, as aligned with training mandated by agency
  3. Knowledge of harm reduction techniques and functional use of them, and the harm reduction landscape of Illinois
  4. Understanding of personal and professional boundaries
  5. Ability to plan, develop and manage multiple projects
  6. Organizational skills
  7. Technology competence with Windows 10/11, One Drive, SharePoint, Adobe, Zoom, Teams, etc.
  8. Time and stress management skills
  9. Communication skills to include interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  10. Conflict resolution and diplomacy skills
  11. Electronic Health Record literacy
  12. Ability to develop solutions to problems.
  13. Ability to speak and write clearly and effectively.
  14. Ability to comprehend complex ideas and complex diagnostic histories of consumers
  15. Ability to provide instruction and training to neurodiverse groups
  16. Ability to participate in and understand logistics and ethics of grant funding and management.

Qualifications


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides clinical and peer supervision of the harm reduction team
  2. Leads staff meetings and treatment planning meetings with clinicians and peers
  3. Directs the client admission process, treatment, rehabilitation and support services of the program in coordination with the psychiatrist whenever indicated
  4. Trains and supervises employees to procedures and clinical functions
  5. Assists in scheduling employees to provide adequate coverage
  6. Ensures documentation quality, completion and compliance at all times, as well as monitors timelines and agency policies and procedures according to agency’s guidelines
  7. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and accreditation requirements related to service delivery policies, practices, and reporting standards
  8. Develops, coaches, guides and determines individual performance expectations for direct reports.
  9. Compiles reports and gathers data as requested
  10. Adheres to confidentiality practices and procedures according to agency policies.
  11. Maintains compliance at all times with agency policies and procedures.
  12. Maintains license and/or certification for position
  13. Responsible for prioritizing own and others’ work to ensure completion
  14. Checks the quality and timeliness of own and others’ work
  15. Adheres to ethical practices
  16. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred
  2. CAADC Certification or CRSS/CPRS Certification
  3. Valid Driver’s License, Auto Insurance, and clean driving record
  4. Able / willing to support Recovery programs across multiple C4 sites
  5. Prior experience working with PWUD
  6. Familiarity with SAMSHA level of care criteria and Illinois Rule 132 and Rule 2060
  7. Strong Data management skills
