Position Title: Student Success Coach- Pittsburgh Promise Extension to Scholar Grant (Foundation Funded FT)

General Summary: Provide essential learning support services and serve as a Success Coach for students eligible for the Extension into Scholars grant program; monitor and document the progress of students and provide encouragement and support necessary to enable students to complete their course of study at CCAC.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of two years' experience in human services serving diverse populations or economically or educationally disadvantaged populations. Applicant must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability and willingness to work collaboratively. Attention to detail and the ability to follow through with assisting the student. Commitment to the students' success and student centered education. Community College experience preferred.
Duties:
1. Assist in recruitment of future students and/or program cohorts.
2. Monitor student progress by utilizing established College technology and tracking systems.
3. Design and coordinate group learning activities to promote student engagement and retention.
4. Work with Financial Aid Office to ensure completion of financial aid for new and existing students.
5. Participate in onboarding activities to promote enrollment and retention of new students.
6. Provide individual and/or group coaching on issues related to academic success and transition to Pittsburgh Promise Scholars program.
7. Coordinate with faculty to support the success of eligible students.
8. Provide referrals to outside community resources and college constituents.
9. Work with the various Enrollment Services Offices to identify and recommend appropriate services designed to address student needs.
10. Participate in the RK Mellon WRAP Team to identify barriers to student success.
11. Compile data to provide reports on program services, activities, and students.
12. Maintain accurate, organized, completed, and detailed records and develop and maintain reports as required or assigned.
13. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check. The College has provided instructions on how to obtain these clearances and are available here.
Vaccination: Effective November 1, 2021, as a condition of employment, all new employees of Community College of Allegheny County must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of their vaccination or have received an approved exemption to be an employee. Prospective employees who are offered a position can request an exemption from this vaccine requirement for religious or documented medical reasons. Exemption requests will be reviewed for approval on a case-by-case basis by the Office of Human Resources.
