Description

Paramedic - Chase Unit

$5,000 Retention Bonus for qualified, full-time PARAMEDIC

Paramedics to respond in a non-transporting, ALS stocked vehicle and provides advanced medical care for patients who require ALS treatment and transport. The purpose of this position is to focus employees with ALS skill levels to patients requiring advanced care.

Community Care Ambulance (CCA) founded in 1994, is a nonprofit that is an innovative and reputable provider of 911 emergency and non-emergency medical transportation services throughout northeast Ohio. CCA is in search of highly motivated and dependable Paramedics like you!

Primary Job Duties:

  • Meet and exceed the National Standard of Care for Advanced Life Support.
  • Meet and exceed all patient care standards of Community Care Ambulance.
  • Adhere to Community Care Ambulance policies and procedures.
  • Administer first-aid treatment and life-support care to sick or injured persons in pre-hospital setting.
  • Perform emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures, such as stomach suction, airway management or heart monitoring, during ambulance ride.
  • Comfort and reassure patients.
  • Immobilize patient for placement on stretcher and ambulance transport, using backboard and other spinal immobilization device.
  • Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report to physician the patient's condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs and treatment.
  • Communicate with dispatchers and treatment center personnel to provide information about situation, to arrange reception of victims, and to receive instructions for further treatment.
  • Decontaminate ambulance interior following treatment of patient with infectious disease and report case to proper authorities.
  • Operate equipment such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), external defibrillators and bag-valve mask resuscitators in advanced life-support environments.
  • Maintain vehicles and medical and communication equipment and replenish first-aid equipment and supplies.
  • Making sure squad and all needed equipment is available and in working order.
  • Completing and submitting patient care reports as required in a timely fashion.
  • Observe, record, and report to physician the patient's condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs and treatment.
  • Attending mandatory training and meetings.
  • Responsible for all action of entire crew.

Qualifications


Skills/Experience:

  • Perform CPR.
  • Apply knowledge to care for patients in timely fashion.
  • Drive emergency vehicles in safe manner adhering to traffic laws and company policy.
  • Coordination — Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
  • Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • EMT Paramedic Certification.
  • Driver’s License.
  • ACLS and CPR Certifications.
