Summary/Objective:

Under the direction of the Special Projects Director, the Uplift Harvey Project Manager is responsible for providing case management to the participants of the Uplift Harvey program. Responsible for registering participants (ages 16 to 24), conducting initial intake interviews, and monitoring program participation and progress. This position routinely handles highly sensitive and/or confidential information and will represent CEDA in a variety of capacities. Must demonstrate good judgment, an ability to be approachable and professional, solid problem-solving skills, an ability to handle multiple tasks, an ability to be self- motivated and well organized, and maintain strict confidentiality.

Essential Functions

  • Assist Deputy Director/Director with the Uplift Harvey Project.
  • Assist Deputy Director/Director with identifying and setting goals for various Project components and monitoring outcomes for necessary adjustments.
  • Works with Mobility LABs Project Manager to identify and recruit participants from ages 16 to 24 for acceptance into one or more of the direct service programs that the Uplift Harvey grant offers including workplace readiness and skills, financial literacy skills, mentoring, and other services using approved curriculum.
  • Works with Deputy Director/Director to design personalized service plans for each participant to help them reach desired economic mobility goals.
  • Engage household family members of participants and identify areas of financial assistance needs and refer to other community or CEDA services through our whole family approach model.
  • Assist Deputy Director/Director with identifying, in partnership with Harvey residents, site of community revitalization project.
  • Assist the Summer Jobs Coordinator with the implementation of youth summer internship program.
  • Collect and maintain relevant community resources for participants and families as needed.
  • Document every case management session by maintaining professional and detailed case notes of all family interactions in appropriate electronic format and in printed format for case files.
  • Prepares written correspondence, memorandums, reports and studies as required
  • Assist with assessments to determine community needs for grant preparation/revision.
  • Keeps abreast of professional developments in the field/industry through reading, participation in conferences and trainings.
  • Ensures community is aware of CEDA services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will be responsible for training, developing, and managing the youth liaison for Uplift Harvey.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works mostly in an office environment that is quiet to moderately loud, depending on the work area. Some local, county, or state travel may be required, including overnight stays. Employee is required to sit, use hands, stand, stoop, walk, talk, and listen while performing duties. General office equipment including personal computers, scanners, copiers, faxes, desk- and smartphones, and software programs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The
employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing/vision.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel

This is a three (3) year assignment, but the position can be reduced or extended based on funding and needs of the organization. This is a professional, case management position requiring the exercise of discretion and good judgment and is required to work a full time work week, as designated by the CEDA Employee Handbook, with periodic longer hours, including potential evenings, weekends, and odd hours. Occasional travel of distance may be required. Must have reliable transportation. If using personal vehicle or CEDA owned vehicle, must possess and maintain an applicable Driver License, clean driving record, and Auto Insurance that meets the State requirements.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience with case management experience.


Preferred Education & Experience

  • Experience in a nonprofit, social service organization, or a Community Based Organization.
  • Experience working with various socioeconomic populations.
  • Bilingual language abilities are strongly preferred (English/Spanish).
