SCHEDULE: 

June 21 - August 16, 2024. Monday – Friday, 5 Hours/Day, 25 Hours/Week.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The SFSP Program Coordinator assists with program planning and daily coordination of SFSP while maintaining an understanding of USDA requirements. May require frequent travel to sites throughout Belknap and Merrimack Counties. 

PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITES

  • Assists with program planning and coordination. 
  • Assists with the USDA program application as needed. 
  • Assists with preparing breakfast and lunches for the SFSP as needed. 
  • Fills in for Head Cook as needed. 
  • Maintains an understanding of the USDA and SFSP requirements. 
  • Provides required training to approved meal sites prior to receiving meals. 
  • Conducts meal site monitoring reviews as required by NHDOE and USDA. 
  • Follows the provided menu with no alteration, unless approved by the SFSP Manager. 
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of sanitary food practices in accordance with state and local requirements. 
  • Assists in the ordering and purchasing of products from approved vendors and local stores. 
  • Assists the Head Cook with accepting delivery of products 
  • Assists the Program Manager with processing invoices, and purchase orders for payment. 
  • Assists with compiling and reviewing daily meal count sheets. 
  • Assists with performing SFSP site monitoring. 
  • Assists with kitchen set-up at the beginning of the season and breakdown at the end of the season. 
  • Assists with kitchen cleaning as needed. 
  • Assists Program Manager with maintaining accurate inventory of food and supplies at kitchens and informs the SFSP Program Manager of any items running low. 
  • Assists with transporting meals to sites prior to meal service as needed. 
  • Presents a professional and positive image when interacting with others as a representative of Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc and the Summer Food Service Program.

  • Maintain adequate knowledge of all CAPBM programs to make referrals to other CAPBM programs beneficial to the participant.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with all current, past, and prospective clients, and maintain the confidentiality of clients and staff per CAPBM policy and procedure. Adhere strictly to the confidentiality of clients, co-workers, and internal business information.
  • Present a professional and positive image as a representative of CAPBM.
  • Follow established policies and procedures and comply with all safety requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with the supervisor regarding workflow, problems, suggestions, etc.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment; and attend team and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Be punctual for scheduled work, use time appropriately, and complete work in a timely fashion with minimal errors.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Two years of experience coordinating service delivery in a social services setting.
  • One year of experience in commercial kitchens or equivalent food service experience.
  • One year of experience supervising kitchen staff.
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment as needed.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards as they relate to food preparation, service, and storage.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalency credential.

License/Certification:

  • Successful completion of criminal record check.
  • ServSafe certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation for required travel.
