Purpose of Position:
The Tobacco Prevention Manager will work within C.A.S.I.’s Minority Health Initiative to prevent and reduce the use of all tobacco products in our community and to protect citizens from exposure to tobacco smoke.
This will be carried out by working closely with the members of the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalition, community partners, and other CASI programs to provide community education and access to resources.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
● Develop annual goals and activities in alignment with the coalition that includes measurements appropriate for reporting
● Manage the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation grant budget, including reporting and re-application as required
● Work to create long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations, and individuals in health promotion, assessment, and evaluation activities
● Develop and implement data collection methods, tools, and evaluation measures for coalition activities and associated projects in conjunction with coalition members
● Collaborate and work closely with the Clark County Health Department administrators, legislators, heads of health plans, related businesses, academic institutions, and community-based organizations to promote the coalition’s mission and goals
● Assist with implementing Quit Now Indiana referrals expansion
● Provide supervision and management support to the VOICE Program Coordinator
● Will work 4 hours a week on the Comprehensive Smoke Free Ordinance with coalition members, supervisor, community stakeholders, volunteers and policy makers.

Required Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or other applicable field of study*
● 1-3 Years of experience in public health, community outreach, or other applicable community work*
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Strong understanding of health disparities and inequities
● Confidence in working with various stakeholders including internal staff, community members, partnering organizations, and others
● 1-3 grant management experience
*Applicable lived experience can be used as a substitute for the education and/or work experience requirement.
This individual must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance and must pass a criminal background check.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time/ 40 hours position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; however, this position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend and evening work.
