Founded in 1974, Community Access celebrates its 50th Anniversary as a pioneer of supportive housing and social services in NYC for people with mental health concerns. Our programs are spread across 25 locations and include over 1200 units of supportive housing in three boroughs, the Howie the Harp Advocacy Center, East Village Access—a PROS program, Peer-driven Crisis Respite Center, Adult Home Initiative, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and the Intensive Mobile Team.
Department Overview
The Property Management department acts as the managing agent for buildings that Community Access (CA) developer, owns or controls. The Property Management department is responsible for lease maintenance, rent collection, property financial reports and compliance with government regulations (such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, HOME, and Housing Trust Fund).
Position: Floating Senior Maintenance Mechanic
Work Location: Multiple sites (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan)
Wage: $25.56 to $31.25

Position Overview
This is a non-live in position. The primary goal of the Floating Senior Maintenance Mechanic is to provide a safe and adequate living/working environment for the residents and staff. The Floating Senior Maintenance Mechanic shall maintain properties in good condition and in compliance with all building codes, local, state and federal requirements, and agency policies and procedures. Conduct inspections as required for Community Access’ preventive maintenance program for all building systems and equipment and keep accurate records of all inspections conducted. They also supervise the maintenance mechanic and contracted porters.
