POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing peer support and assistance to recovering individuals to assist them in meeting their recovery goal. Coach other peers to be a role model for peer services. Provide leadership in identifying ways to implement peer programming across all agency settings.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum high school diploma, two years of recovery experience, and at least two years of providing peer services in an outpatient setting. Ability to work with persons in a manner that shows respect for cultural differences.
SKILL SETS: Possesses organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Must demonstrate a high level of familiarity with Microsoft Office. Must be able to lead organized programming such as participation station, peer group meetings, provide peer certification trainings, and able to resolve conflicts among peers. Must be willing to provide peer coaching to other peers.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity necessary for updating files and completing documents. Requires frequent stooping, kneeling and crouching to file records. Hearing and talking necessary to answer phone and talk with employees and other individuals. Work is light with walking, standing, and sitting. Manual dexterity is required to perform word processing and other clerical duties.
