Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a temporary full time faculty position for the full academic year of 2024-2025 in the Department of Biology.

The department offers B.A. in Biology, B.S. in Biology and Biomedical degrees, as well as a Master of Science degree.

This temporary faculty member will be asked to teach both lecture and discussion sections of our Biol208 Human Genetics and Biol209 Genetics courses in the fall and spring of the 2024-2025 academic year. In addition, faculty will help teach laboratory sections of Cell Biology (Biol211) in the fall of 2024, and possibly Biol211 or Biol110 Laboratory sections in the spring of 2025. All courses are being offered and taught in person on the Lock Haven Campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

• An earned Master’s or Doctoral degree in Biology or Equivalent field or Master’s in Education with at least 30 credits of graduate level biology courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching course(s) with content related to the course(s) to be assigned.
• Overall teaching experience at the undergraduate level of the course(s) to be taught for a minimum of 2 years
• Experience teaching laboratory courses
• Advanced degree in specialty related to course needs
• Non-classroom research or other background sufficient to support the knowledge-base required to carry out the teaching duties associated with the course(s) to be assigned
