THE POSITION
Do you possess a wide range of skills? The Department of Transportation, Engineering District 3 is in search of a Tradesman Helper to aid in general maintenance and repair of district and county buildings. Seize this opportunity to demonstrate your versatile capabilities!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The role involves supporting the District Office Facility Operations Supervisor, Maintenance Repairman, Electrician I and Electrician II in general building and grounds maintenance and repair tasks at district and county buildings. Your responsibilities include snow shoveling, sweeping, cleaning walks, and maintaining outside premises. In addition to these tasks, you will also be responsible for nonspecialized cleaning and building maintenance duties. This will involve operating a range of tools and equipment such as hand tools, riding mowers, weed eaters, edgers, and hedge trimmers. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining planting beds, trees, shrubs, raking leaves, and cleaning up minor storm damage. It is important to select the appropriate tools and equipment for each task, use them correctly, and ensure proper cleaning and maintenance after use to uphold accepted standards of materials and workmanship.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Seasonal Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Special Requirement:
- This position requires an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
