THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Security Officer 1, you are responsible and accountable for the safety and security of patients, employees, students, and visitors of the hospital buildings and grounds. To maintain a safe and secure hospital environment, you perform incidental custodial maintenance duties and other related duties by following the supervisor’s instructions and/or circumstantial indications. In addition, you conduct investigations concerning workplace violence theft criminal activity.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with 30-minute lunch, works every other weekend
    • May change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirement:

  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.
Other Requirements:
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
