DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Nurse Aide, you will provide basic care to residents by meeting their personal hygiene, physical, and emotional needs to maintain a healthy, clean, and safe environment while meeting basic licensing requirements.
Located in the beautiful mountains near Michaux State Forest, South Mountain Restoration Center is a Long-Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm (2nd shift), with 30-minute lunch and 11:00 pm to 7:00 am (3rd shift); rotating on and off duty days including weekends and holidays. Rotation includes every 3rd weekend off. May change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
  • Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Necessary Special Requirement:
  • Positions assigned to a long-term care facility in the Department of Human Services require active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and a drug screening test.
