DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role of Maintenance Repairman 2 entails supervising welding tasks with different equipment and carrying out skilled maintenance responsibilities on machinery, buildings, bridges, and equipment at the Centre County Maintenance Organization. This encompasses structural welding, creating repair parts, carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, and electrical repairs. Proficiency in multiple trades and the ability to independently determine work methods and procedures are essential for this position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours are subject to change due to weather or season.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications: (not required):
  • Possession of a certified welder certificate in accordance with AWS and PENNDOT Specification.
