THE POSITION

We're looking for friendly, motivated individuals to help deliver outstanding customer care in the fast-paced environment of our Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores! If you are interested in food and wine pairing and assisting customers this would be an opportunity to share and expand your knowledge!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Employees in this capacity lead, manage, and direct activities in state-owned Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores. The assistant manager 2 supervises a shift and participates in a variety of sales activities including receiving shipments, stocking products, and providing excellent service to all customers in a clean and safe store environment. Throughout operations, Assistant Managers will assign and inspect the work of Liquor Store employees and instruct employees in the proper application of policies and procedures. You will also assist General Managers, who are accountable for the entire store operation which includes sales, store maintenance, merchandise and cash accounting, maintenance of records, and all other related functions.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours vary between 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary:The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1A; or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Clerk 2; or
  • Two years of lead retail sales work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
