Job Duties

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center is seeking a Full Time Scheduling Coordinator for the Nursing Department. Qualified candidates will, under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, be responsible for the efficient scheduling of internal and agency nursing staff, monitoring and granting overtime requests, attendance tracking and correction as needed, and accurate leave accounting in accordance with State and Agency policies and procedures.
• Maintain the master nursing schedule; coordinating all nursing work schedules to ensure 24-hour staffing coverage.
• Communicate with nursing staff to obtain replacement staffing as needed when callouts occur.
• Review any schedule adjustments or time off requests in order to complete daily staffing sheets promptly and accurately.
• Create and post the master schedule in advance to keep nursing staff up to date on any changes in schedule.
• Review leave slips, time adjustments, and missed punches that are submitted by nursing staff in a timely manner to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain nursing office records through prompt and accurate filing, scanning, and documentation.
• Input nursing schedules into Kronos and On-Shift, make corrections and changes as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Prior experience with with Microsoft Office
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Prior experience managing scheduling for a large staff
• Must be able to work independently, multi-task, meet deadlines, and effectively organize work
• Ability to build effective relationships with staff; and demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service in a diverse environment

Additional Considerations

• Knowledgeable of long-term care regulations and procedures is desirable.
• Prior experience with Kronos, On-Shift, and/or Point-Click Care is preferred.
• Prior scheduling and admin experience is preferred.
