Job Duties

This position ensures accurate and timely receipting/depositing/auditing of all incoming funds and performs the Cashier functions for the Nottoway Campus, including Piedmont Geriatric Hospital and the Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation; audits and prepares checks from local funds, provides timekeeping duties for payroll and timekeeping staff, performs a variety of fiscal and administrative duties for the Fiscal Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices required.
The ability to accurately perform banking skills is mandatory, working knowledge of banking procedures, including deposits and preparing checks.
Accuracy, neatness and flexibility are musts.
Ability to work well with others in all levels of staff, including management and co-workers.
Demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment with many varied
interruptions required.
Good communication skills: legible writing skills and good keyboarding and filing skills are
required.
Working knowledge of office procedures, including filing, making appointments, setting up meetings, office etiquette, maintaining a calendar, etc.
Working with automated systems and Microsoft Office Suite are required
Ability to work under pressure in a complex environment, maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.

Additional Considerations

Working knowledge of State cash management policies and procedures preferred.
Working knowledge of state cash management rules and regulations.
Working knowledge of hospital-related cash management issues, such as revenue and proper coding.
Ability to process third party withholdings accurately and meet deadlines.
