Job Duties

Lead physical activities that are consistent with residents’ capabilities, i.e. ambulatory and room bound residents. Motivate residents to participate in planned activities. Coordinate birthday parties and other group social activities. Assist with planning and executing educational type activities. Assist with outings, special programs and evening programs. Prepare and set up for organized programs.
Decorate patient bulletin boards. Assist with decorating facility for seasonal holidays. Assist with creative art construction.
Assist with planning and executing small group or 1 on 1 programs designed to meet residents’ individual needs. Write cards, notes, etc for residents. One on One visits with room bound residents and provide, plan & execute sensory stimulation programs designed to meet individual needs on all units for room bound residents with adequate supplies. Distribute and read mail to residents.
Update and file activity documents. Assist with charting and attendance. Assist with maintaining a safe, clean and tidy environment.
Performs other duties as may be assigned that are within the Activity department’s mission and as situations warrant in meeting the overall needs of the facility.
May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
