THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Muncy is seeking a highly motivated Psychological Services Associate, Corrections to join our psychology department to provide counseling and casework services to inmates with behavioral and adjustment issues.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Psychological Services Associates, Corrections, you will ensure individuals' mental health and general emotional needs are addressed efficiently and effectively during their period of incarceration.
Duties include assisting the Licensed Psychologist Manager in planning and organizing outpatient mental health and psychological services for the institution, including the development and promulgation of patient's treatment plans.
You will administer psychological and intelligence tests, where applicable, conduct mental status examinations, and may frequently prepare psychological assessments.
Additionally, you will conduct both individual and group treatment for individuals diagnosed with mental illnesses, individuals convicted of sex offenses, individuals dually diagnosed, and general population inmates as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
Additional pay will be considered for those who currently possess or obtain licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Counselor issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselors.
Documentation will need to be provided at interview to receive additional pay consideration.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :
A Master's degree in psychology or a closely related field, which includes fifteen graduate level credits in psychology, counseling, educational counseling, rehabilitation, human development, learning, or motivation.
