The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking applicants for a Natural Resource Program Specialist 2 to serve as an Events and Agreements Specialist for DCNR's recreation section. Your goal will be to maintain consistency among the forest districts through the Recreation Section and enhance the overall recreational experience for users across forest districts and state parks. This position will afford you the opportunity to establish recreational opportunities for our present and future generations to come. In your role, you will provide assistance and information to different departments, such as the state forester's office, recreation section, operations division, and statewide forest districts. Your main responsibility will be to ensure consistent development of outdoor recreation across the forest districts. This includes supporting their efforts in identifying, planning, and implementing recreation opportunities. You will also coordinate the creation of programs related to managing recreational and commercial events on state forest lands. Additionally, you will collaborate with neighboring landowners, regional economic development entities, and traditional partners to establish a coordinated approach to recreational development, with a focus on trails and open spaces. Furthermore, you will evaluate and advise districts on accessible recreational options and participate in other related program activities as needed. You will oversee the powered mobility devices program and monitor recreation infrastructure associated with natural gas development. Interested in learning more?
