Description
Help care for Kentucky's natural resources while ensuring first-class experiences for thousands of guests as a Water and Sewage Plant Operator II at Kentucky Dam Village. This premier state resort on the magnificent shores of Kentucky Lake needs someone passionate about operating critical water and sewage treatment facilities.
The ideal candidate will have two years’ experience running a water and/or sewage plant and possess a Class II (or higher) water treatment operator's license and/or a Class II (or higher) wastewater operator's license from the Kentucky Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for monitoring numerous sewage lift stations and overseeing the complex treatment system supporting our park. Our 1,400-acre property provides lodging, camping, boating, dining, and recreation for visitors from across the state and country. By ensuring proper operation of our infrastructure, you will directly contribute to providing a comfortable and relaxing experience for all our valued guests while protecting Kentucky's treasured natural resources.

Job Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Regular monitoring of our digesters, sludge drying beds, filters and possible lagoons.
  • Conducts regular inspections of all water and sewage plant equipment and systems.
  • Operates all pumps and maintenance of such pumps.
  • Cleans filters and settling basin as necessary.
  • Collects water and/or wastewater samples and performs tests using appropriate equipment.
  • Maintains all records and documentation regarding the regular operations of the plant.
  • Regularly monitors and performs or assists qualified vendors in the any maintenance needs of the various lift stations throughout the park.
  • Serves as the park’s expert in all water and sewage treatment processes of the park.
  • Will also conduct other duties as assigned by park management.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years in the operation of a water and/or sewage plant.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must have a valid Class II (or higher) water treatment operator's license and/or a Class II (or higher) wastewater operator's license as issued by the Kentucky Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet.
