Description
Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) is currently seeking a Postal Services Supervisor for the Division of Procurement and Office Services. Located in Frankfort, Kentucky, KPPA is responsible for the daily administration of three state administered retirement systems with over $21.8 billion in combined assets. These systems have a membership of approximately 410,000 state and local government employees in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, including state employees, state police officers, city and county employees, as well as non-teaching staff of local school boards and regional universities.
The KPPA Division of Procurement and Office Services is staffed by three mailroom employees that provide services to all KPPA staff and vendors. Employee training is provided on-site, and work is done in an office setting.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Supervises, supports, and coaches employees within the mailroom to ensure work performed is in accordance to established policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for work assignment and review of workload within the mailroom.
  • Ensures processes of working mail, correspondence and ensures business needs are met timely.
  • Acts as a back up to the branch manager during absence.
  • Host staff meetings.
  • Maintains employee absence and schedules work assignments on the division’s shared calendar
  • Maintains employee records. Approves leave and overtime request. Reviews and approves employee timesheets. Provides development, coaching, and feedback to staff including time management and attendance. Completes performance evaluations. Adheres to all deadlines.
  • Local travel to the post office and other state agencies is required.
  • Runs multiple reports as needed.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have five years of postal experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative or postal experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title are required to travel daily picking up and delivering mail.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
