By joining our Division of Facilities Support as a Landscape Gardener in Franklin County, you’ll have the opportunity to perform all grounds maintenance duties on assigned state properties.
Holders of the Landscape Gardener position will complete tasks such as:

• Performs ground maintenance on Wilkinson Street Campus.
• Use shears, loppers, and chain saws.
• Mow and weed eat, clear debris from landscaping.
• Operate lawnmower and weed trimmers.
• Prunes trees and shrubs as needed.

Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:

• How to maintain lawn mowers. Provide routine maintenance of landscaping.
• Knowledge of small tools

Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:

• Previous lawn mowing experience.
• Previous experience maintaining landscapes.

Additional position information: Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Operate power equipment. Exposed to substances commonly associated with landscaping (pesticides, fertilizers, etc.). Exposed to loud noises and sharp objects. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
