Our Co-op Student Tellers serve as our front-line staff, working with our members to meet their financial needs. They greet our members as they enter the branch, process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and a variety of other tasks.

They consistently provide quality member service. They accurately and efficiently perform financial transactions affecting the accounts or loans of CCU members. They maintain acceptable cash/negotiable balancing standards and examine checks for endorsements and other features. They follow internal controls to safeguard credit union funds and assets, organize work and maintain accurate records. They maintain knowledge of credit union products and services to confidently support credit union sales efforts.

Candidates must be referred by their high school Co-op counselor, work-based learning coordinator, business teacher, or career adviser.

The duties of a Co-op Student Teller include, but are not limited to:

Results Focused

  • Utilizing a consultative approach to identify current and future financial needs to promote and sell Credit Union products and services.
  • Actively contributing to branch and organizational goals, including participation in community events.

Relationships and Member Experience

  • Representing the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Effectively utilizing all forms of communication, including Synapsis (CRM), in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborating with others to meet member needs.
  • Assisting members with discrepancies, account balancing, printing cards, and other maintenance requests as needed.

Development

  • Taking ownership for personal and professional growth opportunities through cross training and involvement in committees.
  • Actively participating in 1:1 meeting, openly accepting feedback and coaching, and adjusting behaviors accordingly.
  • Taking ownership and accountability for errors and making the necessary adjustments to prevent future occurrence.

Team 1 Support

  • Displaying commitment and dependability by being self-aware and creating positive team relationships -- sharing a sense of urgency and providing exceptional internal service.
  • Establishing close working relationships and supporting teammates in all departments of the organization.
  • Actively engaging in team meetings and in assigned committees.
  • Carrying out all other duties as assigned.

Risk Management

  • Maintaining knowledge and a heightened awareness of all organizational security, confidentiality, compliance and cybersecurity.
  • Immediately communicating any suspicious activity to management.
  • Making eye contact with members, promptly acknowledging and greeting them when they enter the branch.
  • Properly identifying members prior to service and maintaining trust by keeping member information confidential and secure.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current regulations and staying up to date on all required regulatory and compliance classes and potential threats.
  • Following established security procedures.
