JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:

General laborers perform a variety of tasks at construction sites, assisting the construction team with multiple projects. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The job duties of a general laborer vary 
• They may include: 
• Cleaning and preparing job sites loading and delivering materials 
• Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures 
• Assist carpenters, masons, and other specialized contractors as need

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have at least 2 years of previous laborer experience
• Considerable knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and safety practices on job sites 
• Experience utilizing and maintaining tools and equipment associated with construction 
• Works overtime as needed 
• Must have valid Driver's License

•  Ability to frequently lift or move 20-90 pounds regularly, more on occasion 
• Ability to frequently, walk steps, climb ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. 
• Frequent kneeling or bending 
• Ability to maintain equilibrium when working in high places 
• Stooping, which requires full use of lower extremities and back muscles 
• Must be able to reach, extend, seize, hold grasp, and turning movement with both hands
• Frequent crouching down and forward by bending legs and back 
• Work environment is indoor/outdoor work as needed. Temperature ranges may be very cold to very hot and sometimes includes inclement weather
