Responsibilities

Position is responsible for organizing, directing, and monitoring the strategic and operational activities of the Environment Services (EVS) Group across Region. Oversees and leads their team in customer satisfaction, patient flow initiatives, employee engagement, operational performance, as well as individual and professional growth. 

Position is also responsible for the following at Region level: Regulatory compliance, Program Quality Evaluation, Financial Performance, personnel recruitment including training and development, communications/reporting, maintaining positive/collaborative working relationships and personal growth.

  • Conducts Program Quality Assurance Evaluations at each account to ensure regulatory compliance and readiness.
  • Conducts planned/scheduled reviews with Executive Leadership at Facilities throughout Region. 
  • Prepare monthly and annual performance review for each Facility within Region. 
  • Coordinates and manages budgets, verifies and promotes appropriate use of staff, materials, supplies and vendors. Is accountable for budget and other performance results.
  • This position is responsible for coordinated management and leadership of all sites within Region and ensures system-level approach to achieve the goals as defined in the SLA. These goals include but are not limited to increased cleanliness and sanitation at lower price per ft2; use of standardized services across the Region; internal measurements such as decrease in hospital bed turnaround rates; and recommendations for enterprise-wide improvement. 
  • Overseas operations of the Environmental Services Group by providing management and leadership to direct reports, meeting all Joint Commission Standards, OSHA guidelines, and other code and regulatory bodies as appropriate. 
  • Manages and oversees Market Directors, Directors and Managers of EVS throughout the Division. Includes, but; is not limited to: written, measurable EVS Leader Standard Work. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: setting expectations, providing feedback and resources, job selection and assignment, training and development and establishing a motivating work environment. Coaches and develops team. 
  • Develops and implements evidence based programs characterized by quality improvement processes to meet objectives of world class service to all stakeholders.
  • Surveys regularly all departmental procedures for adherence to sanitation, infection control, regulatory compliance, and safety and patient confidentiality standards. 
  • Drives the reviewing and maintaining all vendor contracts, monitors the contracts in use and effectively utilities vendors to achieve the best possible cost.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience (required and preferred): 

At least 7 years of progressive leadership experience, with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in hospital environmental services, maintenance, or janitorial operations and management.

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a role that manages multiple sites preferred.
  • Candidates may present a combination of Education and Experience to satisfy the educational requirements.
  • N.F.P.A., O.S.H.A., Joint Commission requirements, policy and procedure development and implementation required.
