Overview

Pancreatic and Hepatobiliary Surgeon and System Medical Director, Liver and Pancreas Program, Center for Digestive Health, VMFH.The Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle, Washington is recruiting a BC Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Surgeon to become part of our group in Downtown Seattle and our health care system.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the Liver and Pancreas program subspecialty including growth, quality, and innovation of care across VMFH.
  • Participate in teaching of residents and multidisciplinary care of complex HPB patients as a member of the Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health.
  • General surgery call 
  • Willingness to travel to and work at satellite facilities in Bellevue, Federal Way, Lynwood and possibly Tacoma region.
  • Guides and participates in Center physician and provider recruitment.
  • Works with ambulatory leadership, hospital leadership, and Center leaders asneeded to resolve operational or clinical support challenges.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of clinical experience
  • Maintains an active HPB surgical oncology practice
  • Demonstrated leadership and program development experience
  • Board certified in General Surgery
  • Accredited-HPB Surgery and/or Surgical Oncology fellowship trained
  • Experience in both advanced liver and pancreatic surgery, including minimallyinvasive and robotic surgical approaches
  • Ability to obtain privileges at VMFH hospitals
  • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the state of WA as well as theother states in the WWAMI region (WA, WY, AK, MT, ID)
  • Ability to obtain a DEA license with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
  • Must be a physician in good standing
  • No undisclosed conflicts of interest
