OverviewThis position is designated as a 0.8 FTE Administrative. Option for 0.2 FTE to practice clinically. As the Chief Medical Officer for St. Anthony Summit Hospital, you will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction and overall operational management of physician services and medical staff administration. This role reports to the Chief Executive & Nursing Officer of the facility to develop strategic plans, policies and address operational issues that build effective relationships between the hospital and its Medical Staff to produce excellence in clinical outcomes.

You will invite others into your mission and Community Health work in order to be fully transparent with the activities of your position, allowing for celebration of success and learnings through opportunities for change.
As our CMO, you will be a change agent for the health system by being bold in your thoughts and actions that generate the need for urgency as we forge ahead as the thought leader in our industry.
Finally, you must demonstrate personal and professional accountability to our community, employees, nurses and physicians for performance that this role and its team complete.

St. Anthony Summit Hospital is a Level III trauma center serviced by Flight For Life® Colorado. We are nationally recognized as a multiple-time recipient of the Press Graney Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience, and we were named a Top 100 Hospital in the U.S. by IBM Watson Health in 2018. We also are a Pathway to Excellence-designated hospital, recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as being one of the best hospitals for nurses to work. We provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Summit County and the surrounding region, including surgical, emergency/trauma, critical care, birth center, orthopedics, breast care, digital mammography, breast MRI, radiology and imaging, infusion therapy, nuclear medicine, cardiology, oncology, Summit Sleep Disorders Center, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), gastroenterology and Total Joint Replacement.

Pay Range$332,500 - $373,400/annually for 1.0 FTE with clinical practice
or
$266,000 - $298,720/annually for 0.8 FTE with no clinical practice

- Establishing and implementing standards and policies within each hospital and across hospitals to ensure quality of medical care.
- Partnering with the CEO/CNO to provide effective multidisciplinary approaches to clinical outcome management and environments of quality and safety.
- Working closely with the Region Chief Medical Officer and CME to meet Market, Region and System-wide strategies, goals, objectives and standards.
- Serving as the primary community resource to all hospital communities and provides advice and counsel to administrators on medical and administration matters related to medical practice and current affairs.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Five years experience in delivery of physician services and medical staff administration with proven success in progressive responsibility in healthcare leadership
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, managed care, and health policy is essential with proven success in effective integration of medical management
- Board certified in an approved clinical specialty required while in clinical practices
- MD or DO, DR-Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in applicable state
- Masters in Business Administration
- Medical staff relations, quality measurement credentialing and previous medical management experience is highly desirable
- Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
