As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech Lead you will:

• Assist in Daily operations of the operating rooms by performing room preparation and assembling needed supplies and instruments for the specialty line
• Coordinate functions and activities of all surgical specialties - maintaining supplies, instruments, vendor needs, and physician preferences.
• Maintain clinical expertise, and assists in training staff and orientating new hires in all aspects of the specialty.
• Perform all functions of the role in a manner that is consistent with a positive role model and in line with best practice.

Day to Day duties:

• Scrub on cases.
• Serves as a patient advocate and provides patient care when required
• Identifies any potential patient safety issues
• Works with staff to immediately intervene and resolve issues
• Works with leadership to ensure assignments are based on patient needs, associate abilities, department resources and operational requirements.
• Builds effective work relationships, and effectively supervises staff by building trust and demonstrating effective decision making.
• Demonstrates commitment to Core Values by participating in community events and promoting facility leadership of surgical care
• Primarily, Mainly Ortho, Total joint replacements (Hips, Shoulder, Knees Ankles etc.), Ortho Spine and Sports Medicine.
• Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
• Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.
• Maintaining sterile field during procedures.
• Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs.
• Maintaining and updating preference cards.

OR Suites-8 OR Suites, 11 Pre-Op Beds, 10 PACU Bays, 48 Inpatient Beds. Approx.200-250 cases per month.

Schedule: 40hrs/week- Days-

Schedule is made every 6 weeks by the manager

No surgeries on holidays or weekends.Like a Surgery center. No weekends no nights. No Call!!

No Call!! ‘Late Stay’ is required and scheduled in advance -Sign up for first, second or 3rd room late stay. Min 8 late stays in 6 weeks.

• Two years of OR experience required
• Previous Scrub experience with Ortho, Sports Medicine services preferred
• HS Diploma/GED required
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech*
• Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required
