Special Services Youth Sports Coach

Youth Sports Coaches are key members of the Health & Wellness team and will report to the Physical Education and Sports Activities Supervisor. The primary responsibilities include hands-on-coaching, lesson planning, and role modeling good sportsmanship for athletes aged 5-14 years old. Coaching opportunities in the following sports; Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Flag Football and Baseball/Tee-Ball. Youth Sports Coaches ensure that fair play and the philosophy of the Youth Sports Programs is maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and implement lessons for 45-60 minute classes according to the appropriate activity and age group.
• Coordinate with assistant coaches to help sports classes
• Individuals are expected to assist in assessing a player’s skills and abilities to help create a balanced playing field.
• Encourage participation and sportsmanship for all participants in the program.
• Maintain supervision and care of each athlete under the care of the Youth Sports program.
• Organize and maintain the quality of sports equipment.
• Represent Commonpoint Queens in a positive light at all times

• Assisting in equipment set-up and breakdown

• Ability to work with a diverse group of people Proactive work ethic and ability to perform with minimal supervision

Salary:

$35.00/hour Special Services Gym Teach (commensurate with experience)

$35.00/hour Gym Teach (commensurate with experience)
