Commnet Broadband is Hiring a Director, Project Management Near Castle Rock, CO

  • This is a hybrid position, working 3 days a week in our Castle Rock office and 2 days a week remotely.
  • Overnight travel required up to 10%.
  • Hiring Compensation Range: $140,00 - $180,000 (compensation determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Project Management is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects within an organization. This individual will provide strategic direction, guidance, and support to project managers and teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. The Director of Project Management will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and clients, to drive project success and contribute to the overall organizational objectives. This role will lead project teams that support wireless mobile and broadband tower construction and tower upgrades, augmentations, and shutdowns across multiple states.

The Director of Project Management plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects and driving organizational growth. To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent documentation skills, superior planning/organizational/time management skills, exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, as well as distinguished analytical skills with ability to identify and analyze problems and potential improvements and propose solutions. This position will report directly to the SVP, Network Engineering Operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement a project management strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Define project management methodologies, processes, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
    • Establish project management frameworks, tools, and systems to enable standardized project management practices across the organization.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage a team of project managers, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project management team.
    • Ensure appropriate resource allocation and workload balancing to optimize project outcomes.
  • Project Oversight:
    • Oversee the planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, and closure of projects to ensure successful delivery.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays or budget overruns.
    • Collaborate with project managers to establish project scopes, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to understand project requirements, expectations, and priorities.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Provide regular project status updates and reports to executive leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Continuously assess and enhance project management processes, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Identify and implement lessons learned from completed projects to improve future project outcomes.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in project management.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Business Administration, Engineering, or Project Management).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years managing large complex projects and/or program by applying PM principles, methods, techniques, and tools.
  • Experience with federal subsidy programs and government regulations
  • Proven track record guiding and directing project team members to ensure compliance with set standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall/Agile), tools, and software.
  • Strong presentation skills: Ability to present project updates at various hierarchical levels within the company and to key external stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading and implementing organizational change initiatives.
  • A track record of successful project delivery within budget and time constraints.

Desired:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (such as Business Administration, Engineering, or Project Management).
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
  • Knowledge of cell tower site construction and wireless technologies
  • Previous experience with rural geography site construction and tribal lands highly desirable.

Compensation & Benefits:

Hiring Compensation Range: $140,000 - $180,000 (compensation determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

Other Compensation: This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan/sign on bonus/relocation assistance.
