Commercial Interiors is a rapidly growing commercial millwork company located in North Georgia. We are seeking a qualified shipping manager to oversee day to day activities in our shipping department.

Shipping Manager Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective shipping and logistics strategies to meet customer service objectives and company goals.
• Coordinate and manage completion of the packing list during the production process and while crating and finalizing the shipment.
• Report to shop foreman for any missing items, items that not pass QC or otherwise any items not available but needed for an upcoming shipment.
• Collaborate with project management and installation teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and accurate delivery.
• Monitor and track shipment activities, providing regular updates to coworkers and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Evaluate and select transportation carriers based on cost, reliability, and project specific conditions.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to optimize transportation costs.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
• Implement and maintain efficient shipping and logistics processes, including automation and use of technology.
• Resolve any shipping discrepancies, such as damaged or lost shipments, and work with carriers and suppliers to resolve claims.
• Review and analyze shipping data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

• Proficient in using shipping software, warehouse management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to quickly resolve shipping issues and make informed decisions in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and supervise shipping staff.
• Analytical and data-driven mindset for analyzing shipping data and identifying areas for improvement.
• Understanding of transportation and logistics concepts, including carrier selection, routes, and cost optimization.
• Good knowledge of shipping and packaging techniques to ensure product safety during transit.
• Knowledge and understanding of commercial millwork is beneficial but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
