Comfort Systems USA Southeast is Hiring a Pipe Apprentice Near Thomasville, GA
PIPE APPRENTICE Summary As a Pipe Apprentice, you will assist with the assembly, layout, installation, and maintenance of HVAC pipe systems.
Job Duties
Assist with preparation, fabrication, installation, and fitting of pipe to specifications
Assists with the installation of chilled, hot and steam piping
Assist with the installation of valves, hangers, supports, and flanges inside HVAC piping systems
Prepare pipe and fittings for hoisting and rigging
Basic use of hand and power tools
Able to work off ladders, man lifts and other equipment from various heights
Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned
Requirements
1 or more years of experience working with the HVAC piping trade preferred
Current/valid Apprentice license in applicable state
Experience welding on carbon steel preferred
Willingness to learn to read blueprints and shop drawings
Knowledge of basic hand tools and ability to read a tape measure
OSHA 10 certification preferred (company will provide if needed)
Additional Requirements
Maintain a positive, cooperative and teachable attitude
Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter
Complies and promotes company Safety Policy
Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills
Regular and punctual attendance. Ability to work overtime if needed
Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
Ability to pass MVR check
Ability to travel, as needed, for projects
General Requirements
Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
Ability to pass a physical ability assessment.
Willingness to travel, as needed based on project needs, may include overnight travel.
Compensation
Wage Range Starting at: $16.00 /hr. based on qualifications & experience
