Position Functions:

• Select dies for proper set up by observing work orders
• Draw from stock and log on die sheet for restock
• Check wear rings for proper centering, polish, or grind to size as applicable
• Verify size using die pin and angle pin
• Mark off old size and angle; stamp new size and angle on die casting
• Place dies on die shelves or in die drawers
• Sort and stock dies by type (carbide/diamond, etc.) casing and wire size; inspect for defect
• Schedule dies to be refurbished or replaced
• Clean returned dies, removing rust, soap, and grease; may require light burnishing and buffing
• Submit purchase requests for new dies and equipment as needed; check with wire supervisor
• Train new die makers, if necessary
• Maintain the die room in a clean and neat fashion
• Properly use a micrometer
• Assist production manager and other operators as needed
