COMANCHE NATION - INDIAN TRIBE is Hiring a Project Director-MAT PDOA Near Lawton, OK

POSITION SUMMARY:
Will be responsible for the development and overall project programming and management of the Medication Assisted Treatment-Prescription Drug and Opioid Addiction (MAT-PDOA), Operation Over Opioids program. This is a grant project funded through SAMHSA and the Project Director will be responsible for strict adherence to all federal funding requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Project Director will assume a strong leadership role in development of goals and programming to meet project goals and deliverables in an effort to combat opioid use and misuse.
  • Will be responsible for developing and implementing culturally responsive programming to combat the opioid epidemic within the Local Native American community.
  • The Project Director will be responsible for the development and monitoring of strategic planning for long-term community-based solutions to the opioid crisis.
  • Articulate the activity of the program in annual reports, presentations, and community outreach events.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with local, regional, Tribal, State, and Federal leaders as related to program goals.
  • Assume primary responsibility for directing initiatives to sustain the program.
  • Develop awareness campaigns, both print and digital, to educate the community regarding the opioid crisis, how to recognize signs of opioid use, misuse, and addiction.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships to provide Medication Assisted Treatment Services to Native Americans suffering from Opioid Use Disorder.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor for staff and clients.
  • Will be required to work collaboratively with all other Prevention and Recovery programs and staff.
  • Responsible for establishing the proper data collection systems and encoding of data for reporting requirements to funding agencies and to the Comanche Business Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REPORTS TO
: Will report to the Prevention & Recovery Grants Supervisor. This position does not possess supervisory authority.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Vision and hearing in the normal range, with or without correction.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work will be performed in the Outpatient Treatment Center office setting with occasional outreach and community events.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or closely related field.
  • Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in substance abuse, criminal justice, or closely related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs necessary for record keeping and database management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Will be required to obtain First Aid and CPR (employer will provide training)
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable under the Comanche Nation’s Motor Vehicle policy.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass drug testing.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check.
