Comal has been a community mainstay since opening in downtown Berkeley in 2012. Recognized for its excellence by Michelin Bib Gourmand & SF Chronicle Top 100, Comal serves delicious regional Mexican food specializing in masa-based dishes, wood-fired hearth cooking, craft cocktails and agave spirits. Comal’s food is seasonal, and ingredient driven. The simple, yet refined food is complemented by a stellar cocktail list, a well-priced wine list and a handpicked, seasonally changing beer list. We are a large restaurant and aim to have broad appeal. Comal Berkeley and Comal Next Door Oakland have unique, large group dining and buy out options that include our garden, patio, main dining room and private Abajo space in Berkeley, and our newly opened full bar, dining room and patio in Oakland. We have a large demand for events ranging from wedding buy outs to corporate dinners and are looking for an experienced Events and Social Media Coordinator to join our team.
The Events and Social Media Coordinator’s primary focus will be to manage event inquiries and bookings and run Comal and Comal Next Door social media accounts and newsletters.

Events and Social Media Coordinator Responsibilities Include:

• Building on our existing event and catering business by providing accurate, timely and thoughtful service to all guests when replying to inquiries and guiding them through the booking process
• Using Tripleseat to keep accurate records of inquiries and bookings and their status, process event payments and produce BEOs for BOH and FOH management and staff
• Work closely with BOH and FOH staff and management to ensure smooth event execution
• Serve as the primary initial point of contact for events on site
• Provide consistent, thorough communication to managers regarding upcoming bookings
• Generate and collect photos for social media posts that capture the voice and style of Comal
• Create and follow a consistent social media posting schedule
• Create and send monthly guest newsletters based on current happenings and features at Comal and Comal Next Door
• Provide some administrative support to the Business Operations Manager

Salary based on experience and qualifications.
