TOSA - POSITIVEBEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORTS COORDINATOR
ColumbusCity Schools is accepting applications for the position of Positive BehaviorInterventions and Supports Coordinator. Under direction, the Coordinator isresponsible for supporting the development, implementation and sustainabilityof Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports framework including the integrationof the MTSS Multied-Tiered Systems of Support process throughout the district.
Qualifications:
ØLicense/Certificationin Education or School Social Work or School Counseling from the OhioDepartment of Education
Ø3-5 years of applicable experience as ateacher, school counselor or school social worker in an urban environment; experienceas building level MTSS/ PBIS coordinator and/or member of the MTSS / PBIScommittee.
Knowledge required:
ØKnowledgeof prevention/intervention programs for students and families
ØKnowledgeof response to intervention, functionalbehavioral interventions, and IDEA
ØKnowledgeof curriculum and instruction; teaching strategies, and theories of education
ØKnowledgeof current literature, trends, methods and developments in the areas ofprevention and intervention.
ØKnowledgeof the use of technology to create and maintain data bases, to develop andpresent in-service, and to create accountability documents.
ØKnowledgeof Positive Behavior Interventions and Support framework
ØDemonstratedability to effectively communicate with students, family members, schoolpersonnel and members of the community both orally and in writing
ØDemonstratedability to create , develop and present professional development workshops forstaff, students and parents
Responsibilities
ØAssistin planning and facilitating Positive Behavior Intervention and SupportTraining to school teams and school-based community agencies and organizations
ØRecommendstrategies, techniques and materials to assist Positive Behavior Interventionand Support teams to improve school learning climates determined by school data
ØMaintainPositive Behavior Support training manual, collect and compile data, andprepare reports as required
ØWorkin collaboration with the district MTSS team to coordinate and integratePositive Behavior Supports within existing building level MTSS teams.
ØRecommendstrategies, techniques and materials to assist school SAIL teams in developingand monitoring response to academic and behavioral interventions
Ø Assist schools to increasing knowledge levelof cultural competency in creating positive school climates
ØMonitorand support district and building level implementation of Positive Behavior Interventionand Supports
ØCommitmentto working in an urban multi-cultural district
Funding for this position dependent is contingent upon availabilityof federal grant award.
