MATH DATA SPECIALIST

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Math Data Specialist will serve as a full time Teacher on Special Assignment focusing on increasing mathachievement through using data in grades K-5 for Olde Orchard and WoodcrestElementary Schools, which has been identified asFocus School under the Ohio Department of Education guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Math Data Specialist will provide job-embedded mathand data analysis professional development and curricular support to individualteachers and TBTs at Olde Orchard and Woodcrest Elementary School. Duties will include but arenot limited tothe followingareas:

·Supportteachersand TBTs in the review of data assessments andimplementation of data needs

·Assessspecific building needs and support BLTin the development of a school improvement plan using data

·Collaboratewith teachers, team and administratorsto align standards based resources to data based needs

·Effectivelysupport classroom teachers and TBTs in the implementation of math strategies

·Provideongoing feedback to teachers in developing data and math “looks fors”

·Provide job-embedded support to individual teachers, Teacher Based Teams (TBTs), and Building Leadership Teams (BLT)

·Deliver professional development toteachers in a variety of areas including butnot limited to: assessment development,Ohio State Assessments, deconstructing standards, instructional strategies, and the use of data to inform instruction.

·Collaboratewith teachers, teams and administrators, externalpartners, districtdepartments, and community partners

·Assistteachers, teams and administratorsin analyzing data to make informed decisions regarding assessments and studentneeds.

·Workwith teachers to use data to inform andguide instructional practices in order to meetvarying student needs and increase achievement

·Engagewith staff todesign job-embeddedprofessional development aligned to theschool improvement plan

·Demonstrateknowledge of the necessary work of priority schools

·Otherduties as assigned
