Definition

The position will oversee the school social work program, school social workers and community mental health partnerships, in alignment with supporting district goals.
Examples of Work

  • Provide supervision and oversight of school social workers and school social work program.
  • Develop ongoing processes that support social worker staff in the removal of student barriers related to home, school, and the community.
  • Collaborate with community partners on programs and initiatives.
  • Plan and develop Professional Development opportunities to enhance service delivery.
  • Provide support and training related to the role of the social work program within Restorative Practices, Trauma Informed Programming and Support.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations, provide leadership for situations under the direction of the Director.
  • Provide evaluation for school social workers.
  • Serve as a representative and participant in internal and external meetings and District initiatives.
  • Completion of projects, and/or initiatives under the direction of the Director, Chief or Superintendent/ Designee.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' work experience in the social work field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' work experience in education and/or with school aged students.
  • LISW-S through the Ohio counseling, social work, Marriage and Family Therapy Board required.
  • Valid Ohio Department of Education Administrator License. Willing to obtain.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Outstanding oral, written communications and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage, analyze, and share data to guide intervention strategies and monitor effective practices.
  • Ability to relate, motivate, and engage with staff and external providers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use traditional, current, advanced, and emerging communication and technology tools.
  • Must be adaptable, flexible, and willing to learn.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Tools/Equipment Use: Desktop PC with keyboard and mouse, laptop, scanner, calculator, software, desk, and adjustable chair.
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting.
  • Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching
  • Lifting: Occasional lifting and carrying (less than 10 pounds)
  • Environment: Works in office setting; may require occasional irregular hours and/or prolonged hours.
  • Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
  • Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions
