POSITION SUMMARY:
The School Instructional Support Coach will serve as a coachfor the schools within the high school division
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
TheSchool Instructional Support Coach will provide coaching and curricular supportto schools within the high school division. The duties will include but are not limited to the following areas:
§Provide instructional coaching toindividual teachers, Teacher Based Teams (TBTs), and Building Leadership Teams(BLTs)
§Support teachers, instructional coachesand TBTs in the implementation of the Ohio Improvement Process (OIP)
§Coach building instructional coaches toeffectively support classroom teachers in the implementation of literacy and/ormath strategies
§Deliver professional development toteachers in a variety of areas including but not limited to: instructionalstrategies, assessment development, Ohio State Assessments, and deconstructingthe standards
§Collaborate with teachers, teams,administrators, external partners, district departments, and community partners
§Demonstrate the ability to communicateeffectively
§Demonstrate knowledge of the necessarywork of continuous academic improvement
§Assess specific building needs andsupport schools in the development of an action plan using data
§Work with schools to use data to informand guide instructional practices in order to increase student achievement
§Engage with staff to designjob-embedded professional development aligned to building school improvementplans
§Provide support to schools inintegrating district initiatives into the school improvement process
§Support the implementation of innovativepractices and programs in Division schools
§Other duties as assigned
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
§Must possess valid OhioTeaching licensure and/or experience in working at the high school level
§Minimum of five yearsclassroom teaching experience in an urban setting
§Knowledge of effectiveliteracy and math practices
§Knowledge of NWEA/MAP
§Thoroughunderstanding of the Ohio Improvement Process
§Ability to work withdiverse cultural backgrounds
§Effective written andverbal communication skills
§Available for extendedhours including mornings, evenings, Saturdays and summer
§Flexible, resourceful,enthusiastic, and high energy level
§Experience with coachingand leading peers
SKILLS REQUIRED:
§Outstandingoral and written communications, organizational and prioritization skills
§Goodinterpersonal relations skills
§Considerableknowledge of the current literature, trends, and developments regarding schoolimprovement and innovative practices
§Exceptionalabilities to professionally coach and lead peers, colleagues and other districtand school staff
