COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS is Hiring a 2024-25 Season Corporate Partnership Sales Internship Near Columbus, OH
Overview
The Corporate Partnership intern will primarily assist the Corporate Partnership Sales staff by identifying potential partners, researching prospects, and integration in the overall sales process. The intern will assist with projects in the office, in addition to some game night responsibilities and departmental/partner events.
Learning Objectives
Recognize practices and processes to drive sponsorship revenue that are employed by an NHL Corporate Partnerships department
Develop knowledge, communication, and process management skills in the area of Partnership Sales and Activation
Duties and tasks
Generate new leads for the sales team through prospect and category research
Scour social media, game highlights, and websites of other professional sports teams to identify brands that are actively investing in corporate partnerships and how they activate
Utilize in-depth market research to evaluate best practices, category/sponsor trends, and the competitive landscape to contribute to the sales process
Prepare company overview reports and executive backgrounds for meetings and presentations
Use third party data to provide quantitative support for partner presentations
Actively participate in cross-departmental brainstorm sessions to create partnership platforms
Observe in prospective client meetings, pitches, and recap reports with members from sales and activation teams
Create activation recap reports with proof-of-performance images, data, and supporting elements
Assist with game night partner activations on an as-needed basis
Perform administrative tasks, as needed to support the sales team
End of the season final project using knowledge gained from the experience
Intern Specifics
20 intern office and game hours available each week
Internship timeline – September– End of NHL Season
Requirements
Must be enrolled in four-year college or university, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or sport management.
Course credit required for internship
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
Detail-oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to intern weeknights, weekends and holidays in addition to normal business hours and home games
This is an in-arena internship and remote opportunities are not available
