Columbia State Bank is Hiring a Compliance Program Officer Near Tacoma, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and implements CMS Risk Assessment Standards to Enterprise Risk Assessment framework.
  • Designs and Implements Monitoring Framework. Designs and Implements Master Monitoring Schedule (All Programs)
  • Designs New (and Reviews) Vendor Risk Assessment, Spanning all Programs and Content (Ads, disclosures, etc.) Review Process.
  • Subject matter expert on information collection, consolidation, and reporting aspects of Compliance Risk Management programs.
  • Develops and maintains expert level awareness of features and functionality of GRC system(s) of record and other technology solutions in place at the Bank applicable to Compliance programs.
  • Supports GRC compliance user administration processes, including onboarding of new users and periodic training for GRC functions
  • In partnership with third parties and applicable internal resources, drives toward continuous process improvements surrounding risk information collection and reporting. Develops and documents controls such as written procedures, training, and certification processes to ensure the integrity of Compliance Risk Management narratives, metrics and reporting protocols.
  • Oversees information collection and dissemination processes. Determines and documents root cause of exceptions and remediation recommendations.
  • Partners with Technology and Communications teams to maintain Compliance content on Bank intranet and SharePoint (or Teams) sites for team collaboration and internal use.
  • Responsible for assembling teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of program deliverables.
  • Leads program and project teams to effectively coordinate the reporting activities of Compliance Risk Management programs.
  • Communicates with executive and senior management and/or functional area management regarding status of specific programs and other topics as applicable.
  • Adjusts projects and other priorities on an ad-hoc basis at the direction of the CMS Program Director including exam management responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires 5 years’ experience in a risk management function and advanced knowledge of risk in a bank setting
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong diplomatic and communication skills
  • Highly developed technical and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated Project Management ability at an advanced level
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience managing information input and GRC technology platforms
  • Subject matter expertise in Columbia or Umpqua Bank Risk Management programs

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base salary and comprehensive benefits. The annualized range for this role is $62,000 - $110,000, and the pay rate for the successful applicant depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
