PURPOSE
This position will assist the Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction, the C&I Department, and the CPSOnline division with secretarial duties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
This position is responsible for duties including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Interact with district administrators, building principals, teachers, school personnel, parents, and community representatives.
  • Excellent Computer skills: proficient with Microsoft office programs, Internet, Google Suite.
  • Assist administrative support staff with scheduling meetings, professional development, and calendar coordination for the Executive Director.
  • Significant use of Infinite Campus, Business Plus, TalentEd, Timecard Online, Kronos, and BoA Works, including managing budgets, managing POs, and working with travel and PRs.
  • Input student information for CPSOnline as needed, including schedules.
  • Process student travel requests.
  • Maintain electronic and paper filing systems and keep state, district, and department reporting records.
  • Demonstrate general clerical duties: answering the phone, filing, greeting patrons in the building, prepping and cleaning up for Executive Director’s meetings, etc.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and be detail-oriented.
  • Understand and adhere to Board policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports To: Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Supervises: None
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Preferred: College associates or 4-year degree preferred; minimum of one year of office clerical experience or equivalent preferred

Reasoning: Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; Solve problems when such problems have a variety of concrete variables.
Technology: Demonstrate strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; Learn new systems and software.
Other Skills and Abilities: Work closely with a variety of staff members and demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills; Safeguard confidential information.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position an employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear; The employee is frequently required to move about and use fingers and controls; The employee is occasionally required to reach, bend, and lift and carry up to ten pounds; Close vision ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is required.
Attendance:Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
