Columbia Gorge Surgery Center (CGSC) is seeking an experienced RN for the position of Per Diem Pre-Op/PACU RN.

CGSC is the only Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in the Columbia Gorge area, and we serve patients from all over North-central Oregon. Since our opening in 2010, we have performed over
10,000 surgical procedures in the areas of orthopedics and ophthalmology. We are licensed by the State of Oregon, certified by Medicare, and accredited by AAAHC. Our vision is to be the #1 choice for same-day surgery in the Columbia Gorge!

Essential Functions include:

• Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery
• Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct
• Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
• Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
• Assess patients’ post-operative condition
• Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
• Log all findings in patient files
• Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort
• Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
• Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies

Requirements for this position:

• Current Oregon State RN license
• AA or BS degree in nursing
• Current BLS, ACLS required
• 1 year of experience as a registered nurse in a surgical setting (New Grads encouraged to apply)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Above average ability to organize, prioritize, analyze, anticipate, evaluate and problem solve
