Description
Community Education Instructors teach part-time, non-credit courses. Community Education classes are self-supporting. Fees collected from students cover all instructional, administrative, and overhead costs of the program. Instructors are responsible for planning, developing and instructing courses and workshops offered by the CGCC Community Education Department delivered throughout CGCC’s Service District, on the CGCC campus, in The Dalles, Hood River, or online. Classes are offered on the basis of successful past performance, and instructor and facility availability.
Community Education provides courses for personal or professional interest and enrichment. These courses do not earn students college credit, but in some cases community education students can earn certificates of completion, or other evidence of class completion to meet personal or professional requirements. The ideal instructor promotes CGCC’s mission to build dreams and transform lives by providing lifelong education that strengthens and enriches our community. This includes CGCC core values of Respect for the Individual, Community Focus, Integrity, Excellence, Commitment to Learning and Service.
