Columbia Center for Sleep Apnea and TMJ is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Richland, WA

Position Title: Dental Assistant

If you are a dental assistant with a great personality and caring attitude then we would love to meet you! Columbia Center for Sleep Apnea & TMJ is currently seeking a dental assistant looking for something new and exciting. Applicants should have an interest in the treatment of TMD and pain management of head, neck, and face.

We are a small specialty office with an emphasis on quality patient care and devoting the necessary time and attention to help our patients improve their quality of life and reduce pain. Applicants must be team oriented and compassionate!

Job Summary: Dental Assistant - These members of our team require a passion for continued education, strong communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills, all while providing outstanding, professional customer service. Applicant will also need to be comfortable answering phones and must have great communication skills in addition to strong clinical skills. The position does not require you to work weekends or holidays. Pay based on experience.

Essential Duties:

  • Confirms the proper documentation, medical records, imaging and patient information has been obtained prior to the patient’s arrival. Previous experience with EHR's preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Gathering a comprehensive health history (including vitals).
  • Collects data for exam (i.e. intraoral measurements, photos, muscle palpations, CT Scan)
  • Task oriented and self-motivated
  • Answer questions about diagnosis and treatment recommendations after training period.
  • Records treatment information in the patient’s chart. Enter type of treatment planned for the next appointment and essential notes and required items.
  • Taking radiographs and CBCT images of patients as needed.
  • Fitting and adjusting oral appliances.
  • Intraoral digital scanning.
  • Calls patients post-delivery to check on fit and comfort of appliances delivered and services provided
  • Adheres to all safety and health regulations.
  • Maintain transparent and professional communication at all times.
  • Phlebotomy/IV training preferred but not required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of clinical procedures and ability to learn and understand new procedures.
  • Knowledge of English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Skilled in the use of standard office equipment including: telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, an computer software (MS Excel, Word, Practice Management software).
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when exposed to stressful situations.
  • Ability to engender trust from the doctors, co-workers, and patients.
  • Maintain confidence with the patient regarding abilities of doctor(s) and staff.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with management, staff, and patients.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete tasks in a timely and independent manner.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate and express thoughts and ideas competently.
  • Ability to quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to greet visitors professionally and courteously.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
