Golf Range -Maintenance Director
Position Description:
  • Columbia Super Range (an affiliate of Columbia Athletic Clubs).
Job Title:
  • Maintenance and Repair Specialist Reports to the General Manager.
Status:
  • Non-Exempt Department: Golf/Facilities.
Schedule:
  • Full Time.
Job Summary:
  • The Maintenance and Repairperson are responsible for performing and, when needed, overseeing maintenance and repair duties for the Club. This includes general maintenance and repair of equipment, the building structure, its related mechanical and electrical equipment, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning. This position is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and for the general appearance/condition of the Club.
  • The Maintenance and Repair Person is required to determine his/her own work methods and procedures except where there are set procedures or where complicating factors require the General Manager’s attention. This position will also oversee the work of the contracted janitorial services and will contract out services when required. Work is reviewed in terms of work quality, timeliness of repairs/maintenance, the overall working condition of equipment, building and ground cleanliness/condition, and adherence to Club standards.
Critical Success Factors:
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work.
  • Skill in the use and care of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in general building and equipment maintenance work.
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to develop and perform a regular preventive maintenance program. Ability to perform duties in a friendly, helpful, cooperative, and service-oriented manner.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for servicing of all equipment, such as lawnmowers, golf carts, blowers, weed whackers, tractors, refrigerators, etc.
  • Responsible for following and implementing programs for turf and green maintenance.
  • Cutting greens and turf on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for irrigation of the turf and greens.
  • Repair and maintain lighting (inside and out), some plumbing, painting, and general maintenance of the whole facility.
  • Keeping landscaping in good shape, planting, watering, and fertilizing.
  • Reporting to the General Manager anything that needs to be repaired or serviced.
  • Helping pick balls during the off-season.
  • Contract out repair and maintenance work when unable to perform the work in-house. To be done only with the approval of the General Manager. Assist outside contractors on work as needed.
  • Perform outdoor maintenance and cleaning tasks as related to the care and cleaning of the club grounds.
  • Keep an ongoing project list to improve the appearance of the Club. Budget and track maintenance expenditures.
  • Provide support for club rentals, parties, and other Club related activities on an as-needed basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School student, high school diploma, or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of three years experience in one or more of the building trades or successful completion of technical school training in maintenance-related trade with equivalent experience.
  • Able to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to fully perform all physical aspects associated with building, repairing, and inspecting.
Requirements:
  • Stand, walk, run, twist bend, sit, climb stairs, talk, see, hear, moving in a variety of exercises.
  • The employee must be able to lift or move equipment, weights up to 60 lbs.
