Creates and maintains test dictionary in LIS. Assists in creating and maintaining policies and procedures for the general laboratory section following CAP standards.

Takes CALL on rotating schedule with other section chiefs in laboratory and as scheduled by lab director. Assists in developing, maintaining and documenting all activities associated with chain of custody drug screens collected at our facility. Ensures operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive
maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Maintains laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Conserves laboratory resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides medical technology information by answering questions and requests. Prepares reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. Assists in the development and maintenance of competency assessment program for new and existing employees. Actively participates in performance improvement projects. Assists in the short term and long-term planning of the laboratory. Attends and participates in administrative and other meetings as assigned by the laboratory director.
