Job Location: Psych Hospital - Grand Junction, CO
Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $24.21 Hourly

Description

Remote Work:This position has the ability to work remotely as required for position and approved by management.

Position Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred. Minimum five (5) years previous experience in hospital or outpatient admissions.

Job Purpose:

Perform and oversee direct services and referrals to the clients in the Psychiatric Emergency Department and the Inpatient Facility. Coordinate acceptance of external referrals with other clinical and medical staff as necessary. Manage the admissions process from time of referral or walk-in through admit ensuring eligibility, intake paperwork is complete, data entry is timely, and each step in the admissions process is completed efficiently and accurately. Interact with clients and provide support, structure, stability, and positive role modeling. Ensure clients understand the costs associated with their health care needs, insurance coverage, self pay responsibilities, and assisting with financial aid paperwork applications (as needed).

Knowledge, Skill & Ability(include materials and equipment directly used):

  • CPR/BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider prior to independent patient care required.
  • CPI Training/Certification required prior to independent patient care required. Must have ability to perform duties required by CPI training to provide verbal de-escalation and physical and mechanical restraints if necessary (Training for certification will be provided).
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize workload in a sometimes hectic environment with frequent interruptions.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Mind Springs sites. May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental health conditions. Possible exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
