Position qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado; Minimum one (1) year previous nursing experience in a hospital setting with supervisory experience in a psychiatric hospital or other mental health-related field required. Comprehensive nursing theory and practice with administrative and leadership abilities.
Job purpose:
Provides supervisory direction to direct-care staff and oversight in managing the milieu. Provides oversight of nursing care and ward clerk staff under the direction of the Director of Nursing. Provides oversight to admissions team, including assistance with nurse-to-nurse discussions, admission orders, and admission process. Through the Director of Nursing, the House Supervisor may have input into the hospital strategic planning, organizational goals, process & procedures, budgets, evaluation of nursing care, quality improvement, and risk management. May assist the Director of Nursing in the hiring and supervision of Nursing staff.

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer. May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental disorders. Possible potential for exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
