Salary Range: $42.00 Hourly

Position qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred, with a minimum three (3) years’ direct clinical experience in an inpatient setting and/or clinical supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Job purpose:

The Clinical/RN Training Supervisor provides direction and leadership on a day-to-day basis to the Clinical Training Coordinator in order to enhance the organization, tracking, and training and education for the staff of West Springs Hospital of all inpatient disciplines. This position provides leadership, education, and training and oversight of training processes that ensure compliance with regulations and adherence to quality and operational standards.

Knowledge, Skill & Ability (include materials and equipment directly used):

  • Ability to effectively train West Springs hospital staff across multiple programs and clinical/medical/operational processes is required.
  • CPR/BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider prior to independent patient care required.
  • CPI Training/Certification required prior to independent patient care required. Must have ability to perform duties required by CPI training to provide verbal de-escalation and physical and mechanical restraints if necessary (Training for certification will be provided).
  • Ability to organize and maintain a central training database that tracks and verifies all staff training activities.
  • Ability to facilitate and support trainings that utilize services of internal and external trainers when applicable.
  • Ability to effectively communicate West Springs hospital performance expectations to staff
  • Knowledge of quality improvement processes, tools and “Best Practices” approaches
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse regulations
  • Knowledge of clinical risk and utilization management practices
  • Capable of independent action without losing sight of West Springs hospital policies, procedures, mission, and values
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to balance supervision expectations with their own caseload.
  • Ability to provide constructive criticism and facilitate problem solving one on one.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer. May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental disorders. Possible potential for exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
